Earning as little as $2 a day this fishing community works from dawn to dusk under full sun seven days a week.

In small speed boats they catch the fish then its de-netting, washing, salting and finally drying the anchovies.

Due to massive inflation in Sri Lanka and the hike in fuel prices, per person the take home pay is on average $2 a day, before the economic crash it would have been over double that.
